World Of Warcraft Cataclysm is coming and things are going to change dramatically in WoW.
Two new races and totally redesigned starting areas for all races means everyone is going to have to learn how to power level all over again.
Those players that have been able to power level in WoW easily because they have created so many toons they know the level zones by heart are going to struggle just as much as new players.
Having a good Cataclysm QuestHelper is going to be more important then ever and the race is on to see who is going to be ready for this expansion.
There is no doubt that questing is still going to be the fastest and most efficient way to level a toon in World Of Warcraft and this means those reliable QuestHelper Cataclysm programs are going to give players that have them a leg up in the game.
Dungeon running is a very popular way to power level toons in WoW right now but I have found several issues with using this method.
Players do not seem to want to take the time to complete the quests inside each dungeon that offer the best questing experience in the game and also offer some of the best leveling gear rewards in the game.
Another issue is quite honestly with fail groups that make completing a dungeon take way longer than it should and this reduces leveling time to a snails pace.
The other issue is with the random dungeon queue itself. The imbalance of players in certain roles make waiting for a dungeon group take way longer than it should.
If you want to play a DPS class it can take forever to just get into a dungeon. If you add in all the other factors listed above dungeon running is really not the most efficient way to power level in WoW.
Cataclysm is going to offer so many new and cool things for players to achieve I see there will be a flood of new toons being created to experience the new starting and questing areas as well as those wanting to create toons using the Worgen and Goblin classes.
The nice thing about this is that it will minimize the level craze of those wanting to get to the new level cap like there was in the Lich King expansion.
I think Blizzard may have finally found a way to spread out players and reduce the bottle necks of players all in the same areas trying to complete the same quests at the same time.
I am personally stuck between taking my current toons to the level cap or going back and starting new toons so I can experience all the changes Blizzard has in store with WoW Cataclysm.
There is no doubt that power leveling is going to change for everyone involved and it will be interesting to see how the old time players handle being on some what of an even playing field with new players just starting to play the game for the first time.
