I was so sick of seeing “the game could not be started” accompanied by the corresponding error code when all I wanted to do was kick back and play my favorite PSP games. I have given you the direct link to the guide that I use to fix all the annoying errors that I cop, including the game could not be started. Sorry, had to say it again…

There are simple fixes for 80020321, 80020148, 8001002 and all the other common PSP Error Codes, which I have found the solution for. It’s easy to diagnose the error code, though learning how to hack a PSP and repair is properly, is another matter.

The solution to rectifying your error code will depend on:

What model PSP you have
What version of firmware are you operating under
Were you given the code or just a black screen
What modifications have you made to your unit previously

Oddly enough this error has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the memory card that you have in your PSP. Memory in this instance refers to the amount of RAM, or Random Access Memory, the PSP has. Each PSP has 4 Megabytes (MB) of fast DRAM, used for video or game resources, and 32 MB of embedded RAM, for system resources.

Unlike a computer RAM is something you cannot change or upgrade for the PSP. If you get this error you are left with these two options:

A If you have a lot of tabs open close the ones your aren’t using.

B The PSP is just not capable of loading what you want because it lacks the resources. It might be time for a PSP 3000 downgrade

Again, this has nothing to do with the size of your memory stick. Memory sticks run out of storage space, not memory. The term memory should never be used when referring to your memory stick’s storage capacity. The two share nothing in common. This statement is also true for other devices, such as your PC. Your computer’s hard drive is not memory, but rather a storage device.

Sometimes there is an easy fix to get your game started again, but depending on the above, the methods vary and is probably too much to detail in this small article. Way too many people these days have custom firmware loaded and other mods so it makes it difficult to explain it all.

Anyway, instead of searching through confusing forums with everyone arguing with each other and all those other sites, I strongly recommend you find yourself a complete psp repair guide, so you can diagnose and fix all the errors. You will also learn how to complete physical repairs including damaged screens. My new PSP is now a fully custom powerhouse.

So don’t get frustrated by the game could not be started any longer, just do what I did and follow the step by step guide on how to fix these common error codes.

In case you are searching Internet for more information about the sphere of find a cheap playstation 3, then please make sure to visit the website that is mentioned in this paragraph.

Regardless of what some ill-advised people are saying, you can downgrade psp 3000 models and above, regardless of the current operating system. After I destroyed my older, fat psp, I bought a new one, though I was not going to take any chances…

Throughout this article and at the end, I have placed some links, which will take you to the exact same guide that I used to complete the PSP 3000 downgrade. It is so worth it, now my unit is completely open – a universal multimedia powerhouse. Loving it.

Now, the problem is not the finding the firmware to downgrade to, it is how to complete the downgrade. You do not want to get this wrong! First thing that you need to do is establish which operating system you are running, Then, all you have to do is google search for a firmware downgrade that is compatible with your current system, download the firmware and then comes the hard part – the procedure itself. Again, it’s only hard if you don’t have the exact steps in front of you.

So many other game forums and self-proclaimed experts out there are trying to explain how to do this, but I could never make any sense of it. One person was contradicting the other, so I got my procedure from a reliable source.

When you get a new game and want to start it often it will tell you to upgrade to the latest firmware version – otherwise you will get: “the game could not be started“. Now ain’t that great customer care? They literally force you to upgrade to the latest PSP firmware to get so called ‘security updates’. What they don’t tell you is that these new versions will severely limit your options of what to do with your PSP. When they say ‘security’ they means theirs – not yours.

Since I got my first PSP I have done several PSP downgrades. There are many ways to customize your unit but the safest way is to follow a trusted procedure.

Instead of enabling people to run homebrew, the PSP hacking groups have started building their own firmwares. Their firmwares are nearly identical to the official ones, only better. They have all the same functions, but have added functionality and the ability to run homebrew. At some point, people stopped trying to run homebrew on these official firmwares and just developed software to downgrade and/or switch PSP to custom firmware.

Please be aware that you need to be extremely careful when attempting to downgrade your psp, because if you get it wrong, you may brick your unit and void your warranty with Sony. The guide that I used is full of other technical information, not just how to successfully install custom firmware and downgrade psp 3000.

I want everyone to know that as of only recently, you can now downgrade PSP 3000 running 6.20 to earlier versions of the operating system. I have dumped some links inside this article and again at the end, if you want to use the same method that I did, to successfully downgrade my PSP 6.20 firmware. There are a whole bunch of awesome hacks and great technical advice in there too.

Now, I need to say that I am on my second PSP. My old PSP was running a version that still needed to be downgraded to do what I wanted it to do and I tried following the steps that I found posted on a forum and ended up bricking it.

I tried to take it to get it fixed but I was told that my warranty was voided because of what I had done. So, the lesson is; if you want a powerful and diverse PSP, you do need to downgrade by it must be done exactly right.

Take my word for it, spend hours on end searching through messy forums and confusing websites, trying to figure out how to downgrade PSP 6.20 firmware and didn’t get anywhere.

The usual way of installing custom firmware is to do it via Pandora Battery and that’s where the problem begins. You have to HAVE a Pandora Battery in order to make one (which means you need 2 batteries.

One that’s already a pandora battery and one that you want to convert to pandora. The easy way out of this is simply buy a Pandora battery online. If however, you have a hackable PSP (one that can install custom firmware natively), you can install custom firmware without a Pandora Battery.

Please note: If you have a PSP-3000 or a PSP-2000s with TA-088v3 (and versions above it) don’t use this method. If you do, congratulations, you now have a PSP paperweight. This method will brick your PSP.

Don’t let anyone tell you that it can’t be done because there are ways to get around everything on a PSP. But if you want to downgrade from 6.20 (or other similar systems) there are some things that need to be taken into consideration before you can proceed:

Exactly what model PSP do you have and which firmware is already installed?

Are you frequently getting error codes accompanied by the game could not be started?
Has your unit previously be modified in anyway?
Was your system bought with 6.20 installed or did you accidentally upgrade?

So if you want to learn how to downgrade PSP 6.20 firmware or any other operating system on PSP for that matter, just check out the guide that I used, it is very much worth it to avoid the headaches. Don’t make the same mistakes I did.

There are so many sites and pages out there that attempt to explain how to downgrade PSP 3000 firmware, but I found it hard to sourt through them all.

Within this article, I have placed some links that will take you directly to the guide that I used to downgrade my psp firmware, resolving all my frustrations and allowing me to play all my favourite games again. I have also used it to learn how to modify it to become an open, universal multimedia platform (all games, videos etc) and, how to fix my psp screen after it cracked on my tiled floor.

Now, the problem is not the finding the firmware to downgrade to, it is how to complete the downgrade. You do not want to get this wrong! The process is reasonably complicated and is you use the wrong program or mess up one of the

These are the first of the all-important steps to downgrade PSP 6.20:

01. Format the memory stick through the PSP. Format the memory stick through the computer.
02. Download PSP Grader and Unzip.
03. Download the Official Firmware 5.00 and Unzip.
04. Connect the PSP through USB.
05. Run the PSP Grader.
06. Load the Official Firmware 5.00 by selecting the download Eboot.pbp. Select the appropriate drive letter for PSP and Click ‘Create Pandora stick’.
07. Disconnect the USB mode on PSP and Turn the PSP off.
08. Hold down the Left shoulder key (L) and then enter the Pandora battery while pushing the battery in.
09. Install the 5.00 M33 Firmware and Reboot the PSP.
10. Take the Pandora battery out and insert the normal battery and Turn on the PSP.

The final steps are detailed in the guides, which are available all over the internet.

You may want to downgrade your firmware for many different reasons, though the obvious motivation is going to be compatibility. How frustrating is it, to have updated your system only to find that you can no longer play the old games that you own.

When investigating how to downgrade psp firmware, please be aware that although some may say that it is not possible to downgrade some versions, I know for a fact that all can now be downgraded.

First, you will need to determine which version you are running and bare in mind that if your psp is operating under one of the really early version, to be eligible for a successful downgrade, you may need to upgrade first.

So, all the versions that you may want are easily accessible through google, though please, don’t get it wrong, use the same guide that I did to take you though it step by step. There is so much other usefull info in there too, not just how to downgrade psp firmware.

There is now a way to complete a psp 3000 downgrade, for all late model units, regardless of what some people are saying. Inside the article and and the end I have put the links that will take you straight to where I found the instructions.

After so much frustration of searching through all the cluttered forums and pages until my eyes were stinging, I eventually found a step by step guide that coached me through the exact method of how to hack a psp and install custom firmware. I ended up bricking my old (fat psp) unit and could not repair it, and that’s not to say that I couldn’t happen again, but this time I got it right.

So please everybody, don’t just mess around with it, if you get this wrong you will brick your unit too and void your warranty. However, there are other methods (which cost over $100) to fix it once you’ve done the damage, but that’s a whole new topic of conversation. The idea is not to do it wrong.

So, here is one possible method of how to downgrade psp firmware using the Pandora battery method. Although it may not be ideal for everybody, it have proven to be a completely successful for many PSP users, though obvoulsy depends on what you are hoping to achieve and which system your are running:

Turn off your Sony PSP and remove the battery and memory stick from the PSP. Insert the Magic memory stick into the PSP memory stick reader.

Insert the Pandora battery into the PSP battery bay. The PSP will automatically turn on and will be in service mode.

Press the X button twice to begin the downgrade process for your PSP’s firmware. Press the X button once more to shut down your PSP after the process completes

Remove the Magic memory stick and Pandora battery from your PSP. Reinsert your normal battery and memory stick in the PSP.

Turn on your device–you should now have a downgraded PSP 3000.

Just establish which version of the operating system that you are running and google search for the corresponding firmware downgrade, and then download it. But I reiterate, it’s not the getting your hands on the software that is the actual completing of the psp 3000 downgrade.

Take it from me, I learned the hard way, searching the internet and searching again, only to mess it up and brick my PSP, I couldn’t play any games until I could afford to by my new one, which took ages. In addition to completing the downgrade, I learned many other awesome tips and now my PSP 3000 is a very powerful, completely universal and open multimedia platform and yours can be too. It’s so worth doing guys.

Download free full game, PSP format. A lot of people get their first PSP, and this is what they want to do. Huge numbers of people spend a lot of time, often without much success, searching for a source of online games they can trust. Here in this article you will find the information you need to understand the system, and get the free full PSP game downloads you are looking for.

Download Free Full Game, PSP Format Tip 1-
You need to find a trustworthy site-
Anyone who has any experience of a PSP related site will have bad memories of the popups and ads on the very poor sites claiming to offer free PSP game downloads. Maybe you have suspended your judgement and clicked through. If you have, you were probably disappointed to find that there were no full games available, or there was only one download of a very old game, or you even found that when you did download a game, it was not what you thought you were downloading. These sites are totally useless, and are a complete waste of time. At least if you have found one, you can guarantee that matters can only improve!

Download Free Full Game, PSP Format Tip 2-
Use your intelligence!
Although you may not be one of them, there are a lot of gullible people out there, and a lot of sites which take advantage of them. These scam sites are of a much higher standard – on the face of it. They are professionally presented, and often appear to have quite a few games available. Everything looks as it should be, but when you try to get involved you will run into problems. Click on the download button, and these sites will expect you to submit your credit card details! As if that was not bad enough, a good number of these sites will expect you to pay a monthly fee, not just a fixed charge up front! Under the guise of being a membership site, these dishonest sites will then claim that the games are free. It is never a good idea to give your credit card information to a site which cannot even state up front what the charges are, and what they are for!

Download Free Full Game, PSP Format Tip 3-
Get the best service you can.
As with so many things in this world, if you want real quality, you have to be prepared to spend more money. There are a very few sites out there which will allow you a superfast download of all of the new games and movies as soon as they come out, and the downloads will be in full working order, and of high quality. To provide this sort of quality service, the sites do need to make a one time charge, which goes towards the upkeep of the servers, and obtaining the downloads.. The charges are often very reasonable, around $30 or $40, which is often what you would expect to pay for one new game. For that, you get full access to all of the downloads.
