Team Fortress 2 Classes In Detail – An Introduction

by Mike on July 25, 2010

Nine unique classes, all with varying abilities skills, health and skins. Like Counter Strike Source Servers, TF2 has a large community of mod and map makers out there working tirelessly to make the game better for all that plays it. It is two years since Team Fortress 2 game servers first came out, and its as popular as it has ever been.

Team Fortress 2 game servers have 9 players are separated into 3 sub classes formed on support, defensive and offensive. You don’t have to play them as those roles but they have been developed so that their weapons and skills are best used in those positions.

On Team Fortress 2 servers without an effective defence, you will lose. Having a good back line is needed to stop the scout from sneaking through your defence.

You have to be skilled at this class to know to play it without a proper gun or using the bottle to melee. Using the games engine and physics to his advantage, he can take out enemies very effectively. A weapon that can take out small health pools such as the scout, medic and spy is the grenade launcher- normally with just two hits! The grenade launcher is also great for taking sentry guns that are around tight corners with relative ease. Another good tactic is using sticky grenades near tight corridors or intelligence or control points. Simply lay a few sticky grenades and watch the kills roll in. Try this class if you are awful at aiming, but like explosions!

The Heavy is our next class. You guessed right this guy is the one that likes to pack a punch. Although he’s the heaviest and slowest of the classes, his health and most powerful gun makes up. He’ll take down the other classes very quickly. The only thing he struggles against is his opposite number from the other team. With his large range, he can take on lots of enemies at the same time. On the flip side, his mingun does take a while to kick in. Once he hits you, don’t expect to move in a hurry! These guys work well when placed with someone else to help draw fire away from them so they can just concentrate with mowing people down. If you have a point to prove on gaming servers, choose this guy!

The engineer would normally only fire when being attacked directly. He should choose to deploy and maintain helpful buildings to gain his team an advantage. The engineer is best known for his sentry gun which he can repair and upgrade with his wrench. ” Best known for his sentry gun which he can upgraded with a twist of his wrench. You’ll find the engineer searching the map for metal in order to do this. The dispensers will also resupply nearby units as well. Teleports are an excellent way of moving players from one part of the map to another. This may be from the spawn to an obscure place outside the enemies base. When it comes to getting their hands dirty they are not down and out with their slightly generic weapons. However, they are still very capable at close to medium range and best to stick to within their own buildings . Want a turret to get your kills while you sit back and relax? Then the Engineer is the class for you.
